Project Spotlight: "Hamworthy Heating"

CMP deliver print ready solutions to all manner of industries, our output servicing everybody from children’s authors to Premier League football clubs. Given the sheer scope of our work we like to hone in on a particular client every month and shed light on how a recent project came to pass.

In March our focus turns toHamworthy Heating.

This Dorset based company has been in operation for a more than a century. Indeed Hamworthy Engineering – of which Hamworthy Heating was once a part – was founded as far back as 1914. Since that time they have become a leading British commercial boiler manufacturer, with solutions used in buildings throughout the UK.

Indeed Hamworthy Heating are in the business of manufacturing, selling and servicing commercial boilers. They have amassed decades of commercial experience and are revered for being experts when it comes to ecologically efficient heating and hot water energy solutions.

Their products are award winning, their training accredited and their staff expert. Yet it is the personal touch which sets Hamworthy apart.

Local face-to-face contacts are assigned to each client, be it a service engineer or area sales manager. What’s more free CIBSE-approved training and seminars are offered to ensure customers get the most out of their purchase.

The company has case studies spanning the education, healthcare, residential, religious and leisure sectors and take pride in their local roots – naming boilers and hot water products after the Dorset countryside no less.


Hamworthy Heating’s relationship with CMP stretches back over two decades. In fact they became one of our first commercial clients as early as 1994.A typical project will involve their Marketing Executive contacting our own Richard Johnson to request different requirements. These can vary quite dramatically.

We were for instance tasked with printing the company’s very first range guide back in 2016, this a 120 page brochure showcasing the full product range. That particular project allowed us to advise the client on their choice of paper stocks, covers and special finishes, including spot UV. So good was the response, we repeated the trick in 2017!

Our most recent collaboration meanwhile focused upon information sheets intended to accompany Sales Managers visiting plant rooms across the country.

The nature of the commercial boiler industry mean print runs can be large or small and it is CMP’sadaptability that so lends itself to Hamworthy Heating’s varied needs. In fact we offer a print-on-demand service to organisations like theirs and are on stand-by to turn brochures and catalogues around in as little as 24 hours, providing print ready files are supplied to us of course.

In this instance design concepts are refreshingly innovative and intended to truly sell a product range, making for some quite excellent material.
